The Laughing Rabbit bed & breakfast closed in July of 2024. We sold the New York property to a wonderful couple with a dog and an interest in bicycling. We wish them the very best and hope they enjoy the property as much as we have for the last twenty years.
Dot & David have moved to Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Our interest in recumbents has not wavered, we still have the fleet and are working on new and different back2back versions. Phoenixville has a network of bicycling trails. We no longer have rooms to rent, and we only make breakfast for ourselves, but we know of several excellent breakfast places just a short bike ride away.
Our contact info remains the same. If you have questions we are still "encouraging the riding and understanding of recumbent bicycles."
Go easy, and pedal on.
Why The Laughing Rabbit? It is derived by combining the last names of the owners. Kievit is Dutch for a type of seagull, nicknamed, “The Laughing Gull.” Harrop is Welsh meaning “Home of the Hare”. We decided to use rabbit instead of hare, and as it turns out the property in New York is home to a number of rabbits.
The Laughing Rabbit CLOSES, but still encourages the riding & understanding of recumbent bicycles.
